        Nitrogen production by cryogenic air separation is a traditional method with a history of several decades. It uses air as raw material, after compression, purification, reuse heat exchange to make air liquefied into liquid and air. Liquid air is mainly a mixture of liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen, nitrogen is obtained through the distillation of liquid air by using the difference of Liquid oxygen and liquid nitrogen.

        As all known, the most popular ways to produce nitrogen is PSA type and Cryogenic type. But what is the advantage of Cryogenic type of nitrogen generation compared with PSA type?

1. Lifetime is at least 2 times of PSA, basically it is 20-30 years VS 10-15 years.

2. Electric consumption is only around half of PSA as the air nitrogen output ratio is much better.

3. Maintenance of PSA is too frequently.

4. Cost of maintenance of PSA is too costly as the carbon molecular sieve shall be replaced after some time.

5. Purity is better than PSA, it could hit 99.9999%.

         However Cryogenic nitrogen generator requires high one time cost, strict installation requirement and proper construction. It most suits in big scale of project with high capacity and purity. And PSA suits small project.
